Without exception, all participants of the ISS project will be informed about the results of the investigation into the reasons for the hole in the hull of the Soyuz MS-09 transport manned spacecraft. The RIA Novosti edition talked to a source in the rocket and space industry, who said that Russian colleagues from other countries would receive data in full.
On December 11, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Sergey Prokopiev went into outer space to examine the outer skin of the damaged ship. The operation lasted almost 8 hours, during which samples were taken from the hole and the surface around it. The resulting material should help in investigating the causes of the hole.
The damage of Soyuz MS-09 was discovered on the night of August 30, 2018, when the ISS equipment recorded a drop in air pressure inside the station. The hole was filled with sealant, and the pressure soon returned to normal.
The Roscosmos State Corporation is investigating the incident, working through all possible options.
