On May 13, 2019, the launch of another Glonass-M satellite, which will be made from the Plesetsk space launch site, is scheduled. The information was provided by the press service of "Information Satellite Systems" to them. Reshetnev, where the device was made.
As it was said in the message, the launch will take place under a federal target program to support the orbital grouping of the global navigation of the Russian Federation.
On Sunday, April 13, the Glonass-M satellite was brought to the territory of the Plesetsk cosmodrome, where it will begin to be prepared for launch.
At the moment, 26 vehicles are in orbit of the Earth among the Russian grouping of GLONASS navigation satellites, and only two of them do not work for their intended purpose – the first one is currently undergoing flight tests, the second is languishing in reserve. The new Glonass-M, which is about to be launched, will be a replacement in orbit for the outgoing “fellow”.
