Elon Musk, who is the head of SpaceX, intentionally sets lower prices for the commercial use of his products, because he has tremendous help in the form of financial support from the US government. This opinion was expressed by the general director of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
Rogozin is convinced that the vaunted advantage of the Mask is not at all reusable, but in dumping conditions on the market that the US government helped him create. The Pentagon uses rockets of the ingenious inventor at much higher prices, which fully covers all costs. Thus, SpaceX's competitors in the customer acquisition race are always left behind.
He also said that Roskosmos is doing everything possible to minimize the cost of launches. In solving this problem, in particular, the concept of reusable use of parts of devices that are the most expensive is used. In this regard, great hopes are placed on the Soyuz-5 medium-class launch vehicle, which is currently being developed, the cost of which should be at least no higher than that of competitors.
The construction of Soyuz-5 is carried out by the renowned rocket and space corporation Energia, which began its activities in the 1940s under the USSR. It is estimated that at the time the apparatus is completed, 62.2 billion rubles will be spent. In the summer of 2022, if everything goes according to plan, the rocket will undergo tests for the first time, in which the Federation spacecraft will be delivered into orbit aboard it.
Today, the Falcon 9 is considered the most financially profitable rocket, the manufacturer of which is just the same North American private company SpaceX. One launch of this unit is estimated from 55 to 65 million dollars.
