Russian cosmonauts will land on the moon in 2030

According to the head of the Roscosmos state corporation, Dimtriy Rogozin, who spoke at a lecture at Moscow State University, Roscosmos is going to make the first landing of Russian astronauts on the moon in 2030. After that, the state corporation plans to create a module of the constant lunar base on the satellite surface. During his presentation, Rogozin noted that manned flights to the Moon are already planned for 2029-2030, reports the news agency RIA Novosti.

“2029-2030 – manned flights to the moon. 2029 – flight tests, 2029 – a comprehensive study of the Moon – automatic lunar rover, 2030 – landing of a man on the Moon – lunar take-off and landing complex, after 2030 – a module of the lunar base, ”says the presentation of the head of Roscosmos.

According to earlier reports, the first manned mission to disembark Russian cosmonauts on the surface of the Earth satellite will last 14 days. As the main means of delivering astronauts to the moon, it is planned to use the new promising Federation spacecraft currently being developed.

Pavel Vlasov, head of the cosmonaut training center, said in a conversation with RIA Novosti journalists that the formation of the crew for the first manned test launch of the Federation will be held until 2021. In 2022, it is planned to conduct an unmanned launch of a spacecraft on a Soyuz-5 launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome.

According to him, usually the procedure of preparing people for space flight takes two years. But since it is a question of a program for preparing for future flights to the moon, the crew of the new ship will have to be prepared a little longer.

“It turns out that no later than 2021 we must decide on the basic composition of the crew. In 2022, when the unmanned flight of the ship is to take place, all appointments to the crew will have already taken place, ”the agency’s interlocutor commented.

In 2023, the planned unmanned launch of the "Federation" to the International Space Station. Roscosmos is going to dock the device with the ISS in automatic mode. The first flight of the crew on the new spacecraft, which will also be conducted to the International Space Station, will take place in 2024.

Earlier it was indicated that the use of the Federation spacecraft for delivering astronauts to the ISS is planned only during test missions. For regular delivery of people to the orbital station, there will be sufficient “Unions”. The Federation, in turn, is developed for flights to the Moon.
