SpaceX Launches Riding Sharing Service for Small Satellite Operators

SpaceX has announced a new proposal for sharing rockets to launch satellites, thanks to which companies will be able to send their small satellites into orbit along with other similar spacecraft on the Falcon 9 rocket.

So far, SpaceX has mainly focused on sending larger satellites or bulky cargo spaceships to the International Space Station into space. A new program called the SmallSat Rideshare Program offers tiny satellite operators more options when launched into orbit. They will not need to adapt to the launch of a large satellite or spaceship. Instead, the Falcon 9 will carry on board several small satellites weighing from 330 pounds (150 kg) to 660 pounds (299 kg).

According to SpaceX, for a satellite weighing up to 330 pounds, the base launch cost is $ 2.25 million. Launching heavier satellites weighing up to 660 pounds will cost $ 4.5 million. For comparison, the American company Rocket Lab, specializing in launching small satellites into space, charges between $ 5 and $ 6 million per flight.
