SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon 9 rocket, which has already been used twice

SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon 9 rocket, the first stage of which has already been used twice for launches in July and November 2018.

The rocket launched into space a payload in the form of a geostationary communications satellite AMOS-17 for Spacecomm. Its mass is more than 6350 kg. Given such a large mass, the Falcon 9 rocket within the framework of this mission worked in the "consumable mode". She used the entire supply of fuel to put the satellite into orbit, so there was no controlled descent and landing of fuel

Nevertheless, the use of one rocket for three missions confirms the successful implementation of the concept of multiple launches. The reuse of rockets allows SpaceX to reduce the cost of each individual launch.

As for the mission of the AMOS-17 satellite, it is intended to provide mobile, streaming and video communications in some parts of the Middle East, Africa and Europe. It successfully reached its target orbit and was deployed as planned.

Despite the fact that the rocket was lost, SpaceX was still able to catch half of the fairing, using the network on a special vessel. The second half of the fairing fell into the ocean, but they also plan to catch it with the help of another vessel.
