Residents of the Russian Federation can follow the ISS flight after ten o'clock in the evening. In the sky, the ISS will look like a bright star moving at great speed. Information came from the press service of the Moscow Planetarium.
It is possible to learn exact information about the trajectory and time of appearance in the sky for each region on the site www.heavens-above.com.
The specialists recalled that the ISS is moving exclusively from west to east, and it takes about 1.5 hours per turn. In order for it to be visible from the Earth, a few moments must coincide: the sun illuminates and the light reflects on a certain segment of the trajectory just like a natural satellite of the Earth. From time to time, suitable conditions are established in various regions of the world.
Astrophysicist Alexander Perkhnyak, an employee of the Moscow Planetarium, noted that in monitoring the ISS, applications for smartphones called “MKS-Detector” and ISS Spotter will be useful. You just need to look at the sky above the western horizon. It will look like a very bright star, rushing at high speed.
