Recently, astronomers from the Moscow State University have found an unusually interesting object for research – the result of the merger of two long-dead stars.

A report on the work done was published in the journal Nature, which tells about the extreme rarity of the cosmic body, found with the help of pictures of an artificial satellite. Scientists have paid attention to the gas nebula, in the center of which a bright star was discovered. Located an unusual object in the ten thousand light-years from Earth in the side of the constellation Cassiopeia.

In turn, the German scientists from Bonn, helping their Russian colleagues, concluded that before the merger, the stars were white dwarfs, that is, cooled. Although this state of the stars usually indicates an imminent death, these bodies have chosen a different path for themselves, joining and lighting up again.
